My translation of poems by Kurozumi Munetada (1780-1850), a holy man of Japan who taught the way of the Heaven-illuminating Goddess and healed many. The members of Shinto Order of Kurozumikyo still strive to live up to Munetada's teachings of positive way of life.

Some lives float by abandoning thier bodies...
Even though some lives would float by abandoning their bodies in crossing the river of this world, sad are the bodies that care only about the boat (Verse No. 180) 身を捨てて浮かむ瀬もある世渡りに 舟のみおしむ身こそかなしき (お歌第180号)
