My translation of poems by Kurozumi Munetada (1780-1850), a holy man of Japan who taught the way of the Heaven-illuminating Goddess and healed many. The members of Shinto Order of Kurozumikyo still strive to live up to Munetada's teachings of positive way of life.

Everything is the mandate of the Heaven...
Thinking that everything is according to the mandate of the Heaven, I feel anything but thankfulness (Verse No. 156) 何事もみな天命と思ひなば ただありがたきばかりなりける （お歌第156号）
